What we do...

Leaningforward specialises in identifying and implementing business process improvements. We combine the application and teaching of Lean manufacturing practices to generate cost reductions for our clients.

What Lean can do for you...

How easy is it to pass on cost increases to your customers? Businesses are having to recognise that consumers (and buyers!) increasingly expect prices to be stable or falling. Yet some costs, such as rates, insurance and utilities seem to rise relentlessly. So, how can you square the circle?

Lean practices will:

  • reduce those costs that are within your control
  • save you money by helping you to achieve more with less
  • remove wasteful activities that don't contribute to a product's value so you won't have to pay for them - and neither will your customer.

It's often easier to make cost savings than to pass on cost increases and, because the savings are sustainable, much more satisfying.

What is Lean manufacturing?

There is nothing mystical about Lean manufacturing or Lean thinking as it is often referred to. Nevertheless, the adoption of Lean practices can bring huge benefits in competitiveness and profitability.

Lean uses practical, proven tools and techniques to systematically identify and eliminate different types of waste from business processes. It saves money by reducing costs and, correctly applied, it will enable self-sufficiency in continuous improvement. Lean practices bring improvements to quality, cost and delivery.

Lean is principally associated with manufacturing industries but is also applicable to service and administration processes. More recently, it is being taken up by the food manufacturing and meat processing sectors.
